CI Asia Email Update: March 3, 2006
Greetings from Japan.
Thank you for praying for me during my three-week trip to East Malaysia (north Borneo). I ministered in five different cities, and felt the time was very fruitful. In most of the places we held prophetic seminars in the morning and open meetings at night. Some of the night meetings resulted in significant shifts and miracles. I enjoyed it and learned a lot. For the last half of the trip I was joined by Micah Lawrence, a young prophet from CI Asia Japan, whose presence greatly strengthened the ministry.
AUTHORITY – On this trip I saw more than ever the absolute importance of understanding and using spiritual authority. We all know that Jesus has given us authority (Mt 28:18-20, Luke 10:19-20), but I have found that it is not so simple to actually use. The Lord really challenged me to stand in authority. So I did, and there were great results. Yet standing in this authority (which is really an “attitude”) was not so easy. I was definitely challenged by Satan and various demonic attacks each time. However, I did not back down and breakthrough usually occurred. I have sort of concluded that we can have lots of faith, anointing, knowledge, and even revelation. But, if we don’t move in authority, we will have little effectiveness.
BINDING THE STRONGMAN – In the 2nd city I ministered the Lord spoke to me to not forget spiritual warfare and that He would show me the identity of the regional strongman. I pressed in and noticed there were a lot of people with skin and breathing problems. The Holy Spirit gave several scriptures that identified it as a spirit of condemnation. I bound that strongman in prayer and that night there were many healings and breakthroughs in general.
CLEANSING THE LAND – in the 3rd city, I felt a real heaviness in the church. The people were bright and positive, yet there was a certain heaviness. On the second day of the seminar, I led them in praying to cleanse the land of iniquity, curses, revoking earlier dedications, and ordering all demonic entities to leave. I told the people to watch for some kind of natural sign that God was shifting things spiritually. “Perhaps it will rain,” I said. Well, it began to rain, and rain, and rain, and rain. In that night’s meeting, I felt God was able to shift the whole church. I went on to the next city, where Micah Lawrence joined me. When I asked him if he sensed anything – knowing he hadn’t heard anything from me, he said he felt “cleansing the land” is a key issue for Malaysia. I feel this will be an important strategy for Malaysians during the next couple of years. I have often noticed they have great praise and great joy, but then a heaviness settles on the people. Cleansing the land will be one of the solutions.
ACTIVATION – You all know that this is one of the main things I do in Asia. I spent one week in Kota Kinabalu where I have partnered with PTCM for the past five years. They do an excellent job in teaching Ministering Spiritual Gifts (MSG) by Bill Hamon. My job now is only to help upgrade them. They are fulfilling the original vision of Bill Hamon, which is to “reproduce reproducers”. Bill Hamon taught young prophets, who taught me. I taught the people at PTCM, and they, in turn, are teaching it throughout their nation and other nations (e.g. Indonesia, Taiwan, China, Philippines). One interesting testimony: A 75-year old retired Chinese pastor from Singapore is planning to teach MSG in Nepal later this year.
APOSTOLIC PRAYER CONNECTIONS – more and more I see how God is using us and CI Asia to connect nations for intercession for breakthrough. I am pleased to report that I now have many key intercessors in Malaysia and Singapore. I know their prayers are helping us advance in Japan and Korea.
