Greetings from Taiwan!
It seems that 2006 has been a year of non-stop travel. Last time I wrote while in Malaysia. After that I went to Korea, then Japan, and now am in Taiwan. This is the 2nd of 4 scheduled trips to Taiwan this year. God is really opening up this nation to me right now, and of course my mission is to teach and train churches and leaders in prophetic and apostolic ministry.
GOD CONFIRMS HIS WORD! – Right now we are in Taipei, and God is really blessing our time. In the evening meetings (seminars in mornings) I have been teaching on why we need prophetic ministry and the power of the prophetic word. One night I prophesied to a couple that God was healing something in their family but it was not physical. They knew it had to do with their daughter and a difficult relationship she was in. The very next day she called to say she had broken off the relationship. Simple, but amazing! Amen!
ARISE JAPAN! – I don’t think I have said much in the aftermath of the meetings we held with Cindy Jacobs in early May. The meetings were great, but God did some unusual things that have taken me some time to filter. In essence, rather than talking about revival, what she did was to release an anointing to reform the nation. We have been praying and seeking God for a strategy, and have come up with a 3-pronged approach. We have dropped the name “Gideon’s Army 2 Japan” and replaced it with “Arise Japan”. This is based on Isaiah 60:1, “Arise and Shine for your light has come…” This is not a day just to pray, but we must also take action. We will work in the following three areas.
- A massive increase in the number of intercessors (okay, nothing really new here, except we really want to help intercessors shift into newer and more effective modes of praying)
- Healing and Deliverance – We will continue, but focus more strongly, on what we began a couple of years ago – make deliverance and healing tools of each and every believer. We are scheduling seminars, writing books, and bringing in ministers with healing/activation ministries.
- Reforming society by trying to impact the place of major societal issues in Japan – One great problem area has concerns sexual behavior and its aftermath. Each year, thousands of girls go into prostitution, just for the quick money. Abortion continues to be one of the primary means of birth control. Many girls get one without thinking, and are frequently left wounded for life; crushed by feelings of guilt, a sense of loss, and a sense of hopelessness. So our people are praying and discussing such things as;
- Providing teaching/counseling to prevent abortions by removing ignorance
- Start a strong youth movement against pre-marital sex
- Helping the poor and needy (inside and outside Japan)
In some cases our people will provide leadership. In other cases we will help those ministries already in existence. What I am hoping to convey is that we must remove the ceilings and restrictions on thinking. I am really trusting that we can connect with the right people to get actual reformation movements started.
TV and MASS MEDIA in Japan – I have written a number of times that God has spoken to us about somehow using mass media. Even though I have “faith”, it seems like such a huge and prohibitively expensive task. However, as I wrote about the need to start reformation movement in Japan, the need for mass media becomes much, much clearer. So, please keep praying.
Let me close by again thanking all financial supporters and especially the $1000-a-year supporters. These numbers have been growing, and your money has been very, very helpful. Continue to pray. I am believing God for 300 before the end of this year.
