KOREA REPORT - New Beginnings:
Our CI Korea conference with Jane Hamon was outstanding (1/22-24). Jane gave many excellent prophetic teachings for Korea, one of which was about the Midianite spirit. She explained that this spirit steals our identity (Gideon did not know he was a great warrior), brings strife and contention (an unfortunate, but very true characteristic in Korea), and causes great discouragement (because the plans and blessings of God are thwarted). Jane led in identificational repentance and then declared that this year we must deal ruthlessly with this spirit.
I felt the progression of the conference itself was a prophetic picture of the present transition in Korea. Perhaps one of my giftings is to sense the spirit over a meeting or conference. I certainly sensed great tiredness and discouragement at the beginning. But the Holy Spirit led us step by step. Teddy did the morning sessions, and as usual, her teaching brought great insight and quiet, but sure, release of faith.
On the second night, I spoke on the "double anointing," which we then imparted. By the third day there was a definite shift. The old was being left behind, and the new was being embraced. In the afternoon I felt I could actually see "Gideon’s 300" standing in the audience. I feel God established a new army for us to work with, thus the title of "New Beginnings."
CI KOREA Training Center:
On March 5, I will dedicate our CI Korea building. We have rented a large facility to serve as offices and classroom with capacity of over 200. Last July, Larry Bizette prophesied that we would have such a place in Kangnam Ku, the most upscale district in Seoul. And, true to that word, we now do. In March we will begin undergraduate and graduate programs to coincide with our doctorate program that began one year ago. In addition, we will have a night "business school." Nora Park, who serves as Executive Director for me, has done a great job. Pray for her as she directs the final preparations for this opening. There is a squeeze on finances. Can I ask you to pause for a second and just declare that "None of God’s plans will be thwarted!"
TAIWAN TRIP (Jan 25-Feb 12) - Moving Ahead and Expanding:
This is a nation on the verge of great revival. This was our first trip in 2007, but the fifth in the last 12 months. There were some last-minute changes (which seems to be a characteristic in this nation), but we had an excellent time. I traveled with my son Pete. In addition to working with some groups from last year, God opened a very unique situation. I was invited to a pastors' retreat, where I prophesied to about 200 pastors and wives over the course of two days. There was an unusually strong anointing. Later we heard many testimonies from those people of how the Lord confirmed things for them, gave new direction, and even brought healing.
We also ministered in some new churches and places. In one church I activated the people for healing and many were healed, including one woman who had come to church for the very first time. There is a great desire for our training in hearing the voice of God. The churches from last year want help in training their people. The new churches want it as well. What is unique about Taiwan is they are ready for the marketplace. They want training not so much for "in the church," but so God can use them in society. I get great personal satisfaction seeing the excitement of businesspeople learning how to minister healing; knowing their intent is to use it as quickly as possible at their workplace. I met one couple that just recently became Christians. They have enthusiastically shared the good news at their company, so that almost all the 40 employees have become Christians as well. I spent an afternoon at their company just prophesying to staff and their families, some of whom had believed in Jesus that very day.
Summary of our time in Taiwan:
1. A nation moving into revival
2. Many new doors are opening
3. Training for marketplace ministry not just for "in church"
JAPAN - A Time of Restoration:
Many of you already know that God is emphasizing to the body of Christ to use their faith for Him to restore what has been lost. Alex Florence, of CI Canada, received the word "replevin," an obscure legal term meaning you have the legal right to reclaim what was wrongfully taken. This is a theme around the world it seems. I was preaching in Sano (on Feb 11, message available here ) about replevin (or restoration) from 2 Kings 8:1-6, where the Shunammite woman experienced great restoration. She had been gone for seven years and miraculously, the king ordered her lands to be given back to her, as well as the proceeds from the seven years of lost harvest.
While preaching, I realized that we (in Sano) had moved into our new building seven years ago (April 2000) and that the expected harvest had not come. I prophesied that God wanted to give it back. Put out your faith and expectation for it. I thought further and saw that the church of Japan has been in a time of spiritual doldrums since 2000. The great joy and anticipation of the 90’s faded as expected harvest and breakthrough did not come. So I felt to declare/prophesy to the whole nation, "This is a year of harvest. The 7-year cycle is over. Expect, believe for harvest."
ROI Leadership Asia:
This is the name of a consulting company that we have now launched in Japan. It is connected to ROI Leadership International, which is headed by Rich Marshall (author of "God@Work"). We are entering the business of doing corporate training. We will use materials from ROI headquarters (Rich Marshall) to train Japanese companies and government agencies. The system uses Bible-based principles without using church type language. It is exciting and signals a definite shift in strategy. In a later update I will give you more background and more information on this.
