ciasia march update 2007
Dear Apostolic Prophetic Intercessors,
As always, thank you so much for praying for us. This year is hurtling along at high speed, but we feel God is taking us to a higher level in all that we do. Of course it is solely because of His goodness and graciousness. A more and more important theme for me is “how to walk in the Spirit.” The Holy Spirit always has a way. He doesn’t want us to be striving, fretting, worrying, etc.
The mind set on the Spirit is life and peace:
A couple of weeks ago I was finishing up a week of meetings at our CI Korea Ministry Training School. Some people had taken me out to supper, which I was enjoying. Then I began to think/plan for the evening service. One of the women must have recognized my preoccupation because she said, “Don’t worry, the Holy Spirit has a plan.” I smiled, because I realized I had, in fact, begun to plan/worry, etc. So, I turned my attention back to the meal and the people around me, and left the rest to the Holy Spirit. And that night, we really had an incredible meeting. The place was packed out, mostly with young people/professionals. God gave us a great time.
Proverbs 16:1,3,9 give a good description of “walking in the Holy Spirit.” We are the ones who make preparations and plans, and this is good and necessary, but what often happens is that it is so easy to rely on preparations and planning and not on the Holy Spirit. A sure sign we are guilty of this is anxiety, self-doubt, and so on. This is not what God wants. If anxiety or doubts begin to arise, just talk to the Lord about it, knowing that He already has a solution. This is walking in the Holy Spirit. This means we can and must trust that the Holy Spirit will ensure that all is done in the right order, way, and timing. He will do it well. In other words, He doesn’t want it to depend on us, but wants us to depend on Him. Even times when we feel unprepared or inadequate, it doesn’t matter; He wants us to trust Him.
When I view work and ministry in this way, it really becomes effortless almost. I work, I prepare, I plan; but I know the Holy Spirit always has a way and is always involved. I get more done in less time, with far less stress and anxiety.
KOREA Report – God gave us an incredible opening week for our CI Korea School of Theology. For the opening, I emphasized the prophetic word given us by Jane Hamon in January that the school was to be a prototype school that emphasized training people to be “sharp in spirit” for business and government. She also said God was blowing a fresh wind upon the school and we would be known for angelic visitations. I also emphasized that as CI Korea, we must model harmony and be without the conflicts and competition that really are the bane of the Korean church.
The meetings were incredible. I felt the angels were there in strong presence. (Others said this as well.) There was financial breakthrough and great ministry. I was surprised at the details the Holy Spirit gave me while prophesying. During one of the healing activations, the Lord healed my heart. My heartbeat had been irregular for quite some time (yes, stress related), but there was a word of knowledge about hearts being healed. So, I said it must be me. From then on, absolutely no more problems!
I thank God for our own headquarters and meeting place. It is so easy to operate there. This was all part of a prophesy from Larry Bizette last July. To be sure, there were problems and difficulties, but Nora Park, who directs CI Korea for me, just pressed on and God solved everything. Back in January, Jane Hamon also prophesied that God was breathing upon us and Korea in a new way, and that He was raising an army of intercessors and supporters so that what is done through this school would touch North Korea, China, and much of Asia (click here to read this prophecy). As you know, I go to Korea for one week a month, and this year will bring someone along with me to help minister. In addition to the school classes during the day, there is also an open meeting each night. In April we will be training a large group of young professionals how to prophesy.
SINGAPORE – (Time to open a school in Singapore?) We spent three days teaching and activating at Arrows Church in Singapore. Many from Singapore had previously come to Malaysia for our training sessions there, and they wanted us to come directly to them. I feel God really blessed our time there, and I further feel that maybe it is time to set up a prophetic school there for training on a regular basis. While training the prophetic song of the Lord, the Holy Spirit gave me some additional insight from the story of David and Saul. Saul was tormented by a demon so that fear and worry about his future and his kingdom dominated him, resulting in rage and explosive behavior. When David ministered in praise and prophetic song, the voice of the Lord was able to penetrate thru the demonic atmosphere and reach Saul’s heart. Peace came to him. I share that as an encouragement to all. The voice of God pierces through the darkness. So, if troubles mount and peace flees, sing the song of the Lord, or read the old prophecies and promises of God. His voice pierces through the mental, emotional, and even demonic obstructions, and brings peace to our spirit.
Time for formation of CI MALAYSIA – I have been going to Kota Kinabalu since 2001 to train in prophetic activation. What this group has done with the training is one of our greatest success stories. Their organization, Pastoral Training Center Mission (PTCM), has served as a CI Asia hub for us and has taken the training all over East and West Malaysia, as well as other nations such as Nepal, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and China. This group has now come to another “Jordan River” time. Many are choosing to cross over fully into the apostolic. I feel now is the time for the formation of CI Malaysia. We already have ordained one pastor (2 years ago). He shared how the apostolic-prophetic has caused his church to grow again. They had plateaued at 1200, and are now close to 1600.
FAR EAST RUSSIA – Establishing an office: This will be my 3 rd trip in three years and there is incredible hunger for prophetic activation. My book on prophetic activation has been translated into Russian, as have some of our CI teaching materials. I have committed to establishing an office/center for an Apostolic-Prophetic training school in Vladivostok.
Two Fulfilled Prophecies –
First, I recently received an email about a prophecy I gave in Osaka in 2004 about the Far East Russian economy becoming very strong. At the end of last year, President Putin gave the order to crack down on organized crime and corruption. The policy is already being implemented, and changes are under way. In addition, the government has decided to invest heavily in the region. Last year the Lord showed me North China, North and South Korea, Japan, and Far East Russia as being one huge economic zone. I just read that a survey of Russians who live on the Pacific side feel their economic future is tied to Asia and not to Europe.
Second, when I was in Vladivostok in spring 2006, I was preaching and declaring that God would open up the region. I stopped in the middle and asked the crowd if they ever had earthquakes there. They said no, never. Why? I said, “I feel you will get an earthquake. This is a sign that God is shaking the foundations of the old strongholds so the kingdom of God can advance.” Sure enough, a few weeks later, a fairly large earthquake shook Vladivostok (April 20, 2006) and then again just a few weeks ago (March 9, 2007) they experienced another (6.7 on the Richter scale).
JAPAN – Shifting from Preparation to ACTION:
I feel the Lord is really anointing the church in Japan for great harvest, and I have been preaching about this frequently. I have been teaching from Josh 3-5. After they crossed the river, they had to “take” the land. Perhaps this best explains the church in Japan: a shift from preparation to action. Some of our churches are drastically shifting their methods to be able to use healing and prophecy for evangelism. Perhaps at a later date, I will write more about those. However I just wanted to say we are shifting in Japan. Last week we did a meeting in Shibuya, the heart of Tokyo, with lots and lots of upscale people. Our CI Tokyo church opened in a new place near Waseda University (one of the most well-known universities in Japan), in a very visible place where thousands of students gather. They will do coffee shops, live music, and of course prophetic ministry. Many just walk in.
Two days ago we held a special meeting in Sano church. Yes, non-Christians came for prophecy and for healing. One family brought their little boy with a heel problem. God healed it immediately. The whole family received Jesus.
APOSTOLIC FUND ($1000 per year supporters):
I am so thankful for the many of you who are helping us in this way. Your support has:
- Enabled us to get the full-time school going in Korea
- Helped expansion in Japan (especially for new prophetic training schools)
- Helped us establish the office in Russia
- Brought a minister from Nepal to our Malaysia meeting
- Help us minister in poorer nations.
I thank you so much. I am also thankful for the great workers God has given. There are many in Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Russia that give of their time and energy so sacrificially. Without them, and without you all, we could not do what we are doing. Thank you and God bless you.
