Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared (Ex. 23:20).

apostle ron sawkaI love this verse because in it the Lord promises not only to bring us into the great destiny He has planned for us, but also promises to keep us from getting off the path. We simply have to hear and follow His voice!

This was a great trip for me, my first in almost three years. Clearly the Lord is reopening the door to this nation again. It was the first time for me to work with Glow Church, headed by Pastor Muoindong. It is fast-growing! It was started 9 months ago in the very center of Jakarta, and already has about 5000 members. They invited me back to teach more about the Apostolic, Prophetic, and the Holy Spirit, not just in the Jakarta churches, but also at several of their branch churches throughout the nation (also with an attendance of several thousand). Prophetic School - I feel perhaps now there are the contacts to establish an AP training school, with a specific focus on developing ministers in the marketplace.

Obtaining a building? It's too early to tell, but it's a definite possibility. In early January, the Lord drew our attention to a rather large building that was becoming available (perhaps). The building is very large and very suitable. Japan Alive could lease it, and then pay the rent by sub-leasing sections out to others. The potential is there; I just need to find some creative ways to finance this.

I am so thankful for many from different nations who pray for us. Many of you are key intercessors in your own region. It is time to change our structure so we can more effectively impact the nations in which I minister (Burma, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, etc.). Our first linking will be only by internet. If you are interested, please respond.

Thank you to the many who have written to renew their pledge for 2008. We are believing for 100 supporters from each of our primary financial support zones: Canada and the US, Japan, and Asia. This finance is so helpful to us. In fact, if just 30 would pledge $1000 support, we could meet the minimum budget for a year for Japan Alive and that building I discussed above. One way or other, I know the Lord will provide.

Transformation Summit, January 28-31

CI Korea provided the main speakers (Bishop Hamon, Rich Marshall and myself) at the 2nd Korea Transformation conference (Jan 28-31). This was a large coalition of many different groups in Korea that have a heart for God and hunger to see their nation changed. In some ways, the conference was very hard because of confusion among some of the leaders, but there were tremendous results. God gave us several key words beforehand, and each was really fulfilled.

  1. The day before the conference, I saw a mushroom cloud from an atomic blast. I felt it meant God was shifting us from dynamite power to atomic power. On the 3rd night of the conference, Bishop led in a warfare shout (for 45 minutes) against the principality over Korea that causes the division, strife, competition, and mistrust among the churches and Christians. Bishop had led in something like this each time he had visited (at least 5 previous times). However, I never sensed the great release of God's power and anointing as I did this time. So it really was the difference between dynamite power and atomic power.
  2. An intercessor had prophesied that there would be such a shout that would shatter religious facades and that now we would find many that would want to work with us and could be trusted. The very next day, one man who had caused a lot of trouble for CI Korea during this conference apologized to me!
  3. Right before the first meeting, I heard the Lord say, "There is an open door here". Truly this is what happened. One pastor told me that this is the year CI Korea would have its first "full" harvest. He explained that now we were not just connected with "fringe-type" people, but that we were also connected to many "mainstream-types" of people, and they want what we have. We found great acceptance. We were asked to speak at a Parliament prayer breakfast. Christian TV and newspapers interviewed us. The TV people surprised us by asking how they could help us so that this "transformation momentum" could keep on spreading.
  4. Continuing Exposure - More than to just the several thousand who attended, the conference will continue to flood Korea. The messages are to be printed in the daily newspapers, and TV broadcasts will show the messages for months to come.

(a summary):

  1. God has chosen Korea to be like Israel. Just as Israel was to be an example of what happens when a nation serves God, so too would Korea.
  2. God wants Christians to rise above their differences.
  3. God is committed to working with those who will work in God's way.
  4. He wants Christians to walk in covenant with Him. As they do so, God will challenge the new President to dedicate Korea to God (and even non-Christians would agree based on their own understanding).
  5. Rich Marshall - God is touching the marketplace of Korea. Just as Korea was an example for church growth to the rest of the world, so it will be an example of marketplace transformation.

When we were doing the warfare about that strong man, I realized all of a sudden that there is one strong man over both North and South Korea, not a different demonic strong man over each. That makes sense, because really Korea is one nation that happens to be divided. During the warfare, we were battling the powers behind all the division and strife among the churches, and I saw that it's the same strong man that works through Kim Jong Il. It is now becoming clear to me, that if the church, through spiritual warfare, repentance, from division, and walking in righteousness, can bind the strongman, then not only will we benefit greatly in South Korea, but that we will see the North Korea regime seriously weakened as well.

Thanks for continuing to pray for us.

In Christ,

Ron. Sawka
