Thank you for your prayers. It is a real encouragement for us to know you are praying for the people of Myanmar.

I would like to give you some more information about the difficult situations that our church members are facing at this present time.

We know of 250 families whose homes have been wrecked by the immense power of the cyclone. They have lost, not only their homes, but most of their possessions too. All of these familes will need to rebuild their houses in order to live in what is an acceptable standard. But meanwhile they live in desperate conditions with no shelter from the rain or wind. The elderly and children are finding this particularly hard especially at night times when it gets colder.

Some families have not eaten for four days. They are using the river water to cook, wash and to drink. Many have already become sick due to drinking the unclean water. We thank God that today we were able to distribute ten bags of rice and drinking water to each district. Although this amount was little for so many people they were pleased to have anything we gave. We hope to continue to distribute more food and clean water to those in this dire situation and trust that God will provide the funds we need.

We want to share with you the latest news from Myanmar. Today we sent out teams of FGA staff to begin distributing much-needed aid to those who are living just a few miles from us but who have been so badly affected by the cyclone. The FGA staff worked with the local authority in each place. They took 10 bags of rice and packed these into smaller bags with enough rice for 1 or 2 meals depending on the family size.

The people queued up and waited paitently for their bag of rice. Some had not eaten for four days and so were relieved and very grateful for what we were able to share.
Thank you again for your prayers.
