ciasia update, september 2007

Greetings,

I wish that could greet each of you personally. You are interested in our vision; many of you support us financially; you are churches and individuals. Teddy and I are thankful for each one of you.

I am also exceptionally glad for those of you who are "Apostolic Fund" supporters. You have pledged US$1000 or more for the year. I can report that your numbers are growing, and I am asking the Lord for them to grow even more. In exchange for your commitment, I pray for you individually. Please be sure to let me know any specific things for which you need prayer.

We need massive funds to move ahead in this huge and important field. Over a year ago, the Lord showed us very clearly to shift from just church planting and church-related things, to more of a "reformation mindset" - to believe to impact the nation. He showed us to confront the spirit of death working in this nation. It manifests through abortion, depression, ever-increasing rates of divorce, domestic and school violences, and extreme introversion (kids unable to attend school, adults unable to attend work).

Rather than doing this through the church, God showed us to start a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) that we're calling "Japan Alive." Teddy heads this organization, and much of their focus has been helping young girls who have gotten pregnant. All they know is "abortion." Many of them choose not to do that, and babies are birthed in public toilets, or at home alone without their parents' knowledge. In fact, this summer there were several news articles about girls who gave birth and then abandoned the baby.

So now Japan Alive has a web page (www.japanalive.org) to provide help and give information and help with adoption. Their staff told me the home page gets between 150-200 unique hits a day. That is how much interest there is! Furthermore, another of the staff has been asked to do a weekly 5-minute radio show talking about Japan Alive.

We are reaching some people, but why not the whole nation? No one is doing it. There is no help for these girls. In the long run, I would like for us to be able to get grants from foundations, and even government help.

If you are interested in helping or finding out more, please send email to: info@japanalive.org.

On my return trip from Korea last week, I experienced a genuine miracle. My wallet, which had been lost, was returned with all its contents intact! I had taken an early-morning bus from Seoul to the airport, passed through security and immigration, and headed to the lounge to await my flight. It was only when I reached for my ID (in the wallet) that I realized it was missing. Since I had passed through immigration, I could not go back to check. The receptionist in the lounge made some calls for me, but I was pretty sure it was gone for good. I would have to cancel credit cards, get a new driver's license, a new resident registration car, etc. etc. What a headache.

However, while I was standing at the desk, the phone rang and the receptionist said, "They found the wallet and you will have it in 10 minutes." And yes, that is what happened.

When she heard this, Teddy said she felt it was a sign for me from the Lord. It just so happened to be the first day of the Hebrew New Year, and I recovered something extremely important. I agree with her fully and want to tell you, keep expecting restoration and recovery this year. Remember the word of the Lord for 2007 to the body of Christ, especially to CI, is "Replevin," a legal word meaning we have the right to get back that which was taken from us; or receive what we should have gotten but haven't until now. Furthermore, God wants us to know this kind of miracle is a simple matter for Him. (That is why I am asking for 100 people to become $1000 supporters before the end of the year.)

Anyway, let us expect the Lord to give us much greater things than we have asked and believed for previously. We must think "outside the box" in order to become big-enough-sized containers to receive what God wants to do.

- "There will be a flood in Sano, sometime in September. When you see it, it will be a sign that the Holy Spirit is moving strongly and revival is beginning." Those were words that I heard myself prophesying while preaching to our church in Sano on August 19. The people looked at me a bit funnily, so I clarified, "not a devastating flood, but the river will overflow its banks and a definite flood will occur." Sure enough, on September 7-8, a strong typhoon with heavy rains swept through the area, and there were floods. (In our area there wasn't any damage, just flooding).

- Do people actually go online and watch/listen? Yes they do! At least, we got emails from overseas people telling us they did. On Sept 15, we did a live internet broadcast of a "Healing in the Marketplace" seminar with Apostle Ian Andrews. Two days later I was in Niigata (West coast of Japan) and many who attended our conference told how blessed they were by the broadcast. We are just getting off the ground with this. The need is great, and potential is huge.

- God always intended for man to work. He wants to be our Senior Partner so our work/ministry can advance quickly. (That's kind of a paraphrase of the intent of Genesis 1-2). Note also that while the land was cursed, work never was. Rather than succeeding by the "sweat of our brow," God wants to bless our work and give us great success. I feel our work in Russia is a good picture of this. Not only has God given us the contacts (Gregory and Svetlana, as well as many more people), but He has also given us timing and an open door. Materials are being prepared in the Russian language. I am excited about our trip to Belarus in November to teach and do prophetic activation for church leaders there.
