Arise 5 Update for July 2nd, 2010
Week Two: 52 Days of United Prayer to Build God's Wall for You!
[Or, "How to be sure to take advantage of the new move of God"]
What: Praying in tongues for 30-60 minutes a day to allow the Holy Spirit to build up walls in your life/ministry so that the new moves of God will not be thwarted, but will indeed accelerate!
Time Frame: 52 Days - June 25- August 16; or just take 52 days from today.
Note: Many, many are joining and notifying me by email or Facebook. I had to explain to some people that it does not need to be one block of time. Set your own schedule: feel free to pray in blocks of 10 or 20 minutes throughout the day. Just discipline yourself to get in that 30-60 minutes of praying in tongues.
Miracles and Growth in Tongues (and Taiwan Report)
The Lord really has given us an awesome time in Taiwan. I was surprised to be led to teach on praying in tongues. I found that many had a very limited prayer language, often just repeating the same one or two words. I began to share how in the past, the Lord pressed me to pray in tongues an hour a day. I found that not only would the style of prayer and feelings change, but the actual languages would. (I think I have spoken in perhaps 10 different prayer languages). I also shared how God healed a growth on my foot that I had lived with for almost 20 years. After several days of committed praying in tongues I was healed. I never thought to ask for healing...it just happened.
Here are some suggestions as well as changes/results from praying in tongues:
* Go with the flow... God wants to expand us. Follow the flow of the Holy Spirit. Remember it can feel “violent” some times (Acts 2:2 says it was a rushing mighty (violent) wind). Just follow the flow. You will find yourself speaking in new languages. Some in Taiwan have told me that since they heard my teaching it seems like every time they pray in tongues, it is a new language.
* Expansion... As you experience new languages, perhaps it is a prophetic sign that the Lord wants to expand you in many, many areas.
Take hold of... The Holy Spirit wants us to “grab hold” firmly with him. That is the root meaning of “...the Spirit helps our weaknesses...”(Romans 8:26). So, get a good grip. If you feel like shouting, then shout. He may lead you to plead and intercede. Other times you may feel like you are travailing (Gal. 4:19). Don’t be lackadaisical or laid back. Take a firm hold!
* Your obedience is necessary. Today I read Acts 9. The Lord miraculously met Paul, knocked him down and spoke to him. When Paul asked what he should do, the Lord said, “Arise and go to Damascus. You will be told.” Paul obeyed. During the next 3 days, God gave him a vision of Ananias coming to pray for him. As you obey and pray, God will begin to give you a vision or sense of your next step.
* Healing and scales falling off. The scales immediately fell from Saul’s eyes when Ananias prayed for him. Perhaps you will be healed physically (like my foot was) or some unnecessary “hindrance” will fall off. In any case, you will see like never before. This week in Taiwan I am “seeing” into the heavenlies like never before. It’s kind of overwhelming, really.
* New connections... Another result of Paul’s obedience was that God sent Ananias, who was a key connection for Paul to proceed. God has connections for you to get you to your next step. By the way, on this trip to Taiwan I have had many key people come to me and ask to connect with me and Arise 5.
* All things work together for good (even golf clubs!)... Due to luggage restrictions, I couldn't take my golf clubs on this trip, but guess what? A businessman gave me a new driver and a 4 wood. Perhaps I shouldn't talk about golf in this update, but I wanted to share the “miracle”. It’s what I shared at the beginning. As you pray in the spirit, you will see an acceleration of the blessings of God!
